Installing TSOP Locks
TSOP locks prevent the TSOP area of your IRD from being written to. This includes
stream updates and Jtag. Locks come in two flavours currently: mechanical (toggle
switch) and digital (electronic or combo switch/electronics). Here is an example
of the latter type of digital lock:
Building a digital lock is not a task for the faint of soldering heart, so purchasing
one and installing yourself (minimal soldering) may be the way to go.
