IRD Interaction
Jtag is your friend
A Jtag is a device you can use to read and write to the TSOP of your IRD. Your
IRD must have a Jtag port (some IRD's require the case to be removed (new 3100
for example) in order to access the Jtag. Here are a couple of pictures of Jtags:

Jtag's can be purchased
complete, or for the more adventurous, you can build one from parts found at
your local electronics supplier.
