Emulation
Cemu (DOS)
This is a DOS based EMU package that requires a stand alone PC for best
operation. There are a couple of different flavours, but the operational concept
is the same. Generally, your Here is your checklist
Emulation cable
AVR with appropriate IRD2PC flashed on (using Jeepers)
PC (486DX266 or higher is recommended, lots 'o RAM a plus as well)
One of Cemu or ChinamanCEMU
Custom dish.bin file (dish.bin or rev381
for bev)
Cemu
a) Format a floppy using a DOS window -> format c:/s
b) Unzip your Cemu to the floppy
c) Copy your dish.bin or rev381.bin to the floppy
d) Edit the information in cemu.ini
i) Comm Port
ii) camid(CAM#)
iii) irdnum(IRD#)
iv) boxkeys
Note: some
older cemu versions require the time zone information to be edited in bin file
itself
e) Save changes
f ) Do a memory
dump and turn off your satellite receiver (IRD) via power cord.
g) Connect the 9 Pin connector of your cable to your Com
port.
h) Connect the 25 Pin Connector of your cable to your AVR
i ) Put your AVR into your IRD.
j ) Boot your PC with the floppy inserted (ensure PC bois has
floppy as first boot device).
k) Power on the IRD when PC booted.
l ) At command prompt, type cemu and hit enter.
m) Wait till the program is all setup (keys, etc. may take a
minute or two) then watch TV!
Chinaman
a) Double click the exe and follow the extraction
instructions.
b) Edit the cemu.ini file either with notepad, or boot the
floppy and edit there
